Starkes Law Office Starkes Law Office Winamac, IN Winamac, IN Full-time Full-time $16 - $19 an hour $16 - $19 an hour We are a small fast paced office looking for a self motivated Legal Assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management.
You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.
Responsibilities Provide administrative support to attorney and enhance office effectiveness Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
Quickly and accurately type and edit correspondence and legal documents Answer phones and emails Screen calls, take messages, and provide client with case status updates Maintain electronic document management Order and organize medical records and itemized bills Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars Ability to schedule appointments, meetings, Depositions, Mediations, Zoom hearings, etc.
Transcribe and proofread legal documents Indexing and updating demand binders Skills Prior experience working as a legal assistant or legal secretary preferred Strong organization and time management skills Must be detailed oriented Must be able to multi-task and work independently Computer literacy Proficiency in English, Spanish is a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Excellent secretarial and organizational skills Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure Job Type:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
